TAGCOM 2008

Lord… it’s already more than a week since I last posted something… I’m really falling behind because I was too busy perfecting leveling up Mario Kart on my DS — I’m still debating if Peach in the Royale is a good choice. Oh well… more work to go to level up and Daisy to come out. Hahahaha… Anyway, last Saturday, I went to the TAGCOM convention… And like any other convention that I attended, Robert and Jewel were there in the cosplay booth – where I can dump my stuff. And just like any other convention that I attended where they were there, I came in sometime after lunch because I was too busy to get out of bed because I just got a new matress… After an horrendous traverse to Cubao (I never stop into the Quezon City area unless I literally have no choice whatsoever), I got into the tiny cubbyhole where they had the TAGCOM convention for 2008. Well, I can say that the place was not impressive. It looked about the size of three stores in the mall and lined with tables of the exhibitors on the left right and center… the walk was hell. But looks are too deceiving… this convention is one of the best conventions I have ever attended… why??? Well, only because I actually got the Nodame Cantabile Mongoose plushie for a freaking hundred and fifty bucks, which was a major steal!!! Apart from a copy of the first season of Nodame Cantabile, this is the only purchase I got… Strange that I didn’t go pick up a random box today. Oh well… start saving up for the ToyCon. Anyway, despite it all, I would say that the day was complete success for me… The cosplay was great. Of course, fan are still at it for Hard Gay… But I already saw him during Hero and the cosplay.ph Christmas part. But the People’s Choice was the Reynaldo Lapuz cosplayer… It was the bomb! With a great promotion team from several people from cosplay.ph, hahaha… He easily won.

Nodame Cantabile Shishun in Europe – Second Night

This is the probably the last j-drama this week I watched despite it being completed since Tuesday. Well, for one I’ve been out the house and two, I already watched the raws and kinda understood most of the dialogue because I already read all the volumes of the manga. Of course, since this being the special, they juggled the story a bit so I still needed to have the subbed version of it.

Anyway, Chiaki has won the competition and was on his way to Vienna to meet Viera-sensei. On the way, he was kidnapped by Oliver. He was brought to Elise’s castle and was convinced (by too much tickling – I can relate since I am very ticklish person) by Elise to sign an exclusive contract with their company and be Stresseman’s apprentice. So he was flown around the world (much to his agony) to join Stresseman on his world tour. Stresseman sent her a lot of pictures of their tour, particularly pictures of a passed out Chiaki with a lot of women around him. Nodame didn’t take this well.

Meanwhile, Nodame just started school in the Conservatoire. There she and Kuroki-kun again. They went back to her place to catch up. Actually, they were at Chiaki’s place because even Nodame confessed that her place was not fit for entertaining people. She blamed it on the kotatsu. She, Kuroki and Tanya were talking when Frank came in despairing about how he was not picked to be in Professor Auclair’s class. Nodame was and he and Nodame had a rift. Just then, Chiaki called up and Nodame brushed him off. Chiaki discovered that she was with Kuroki. At that time, they were in Japan and they were to play a piano concerto with a Chinese pianist, Rui. But Stresseman was sick and Chiaki had to take his place. His unscheduled debut was a success. He and Rui got along well. They even went shopping together and went to the Uraken for a party thrown by old members of the Rising Star Orchestra.

Nodame found out through Yuko & Jean about Chiaki’s debut and got jealous because she always believed that she will be playing the first piano concerto with Chiaki. At that time, she got so obsessed with Rui and studied how she played. But Professor Auclair shot her down because the way she played was not her.

Chiaki went back to France, eager to see Nodame, but was shocked to find his apartment clean and Nodame-free. That was when he started to realize that he knew everything was alright as long as Nodame was there, playing the piano. When Nodame finally came home, she told him that everything was going wrong with her lesson with Professor Auclair. Of cuourse, Chiaki didn’t want to believe that since he knew how good she was. When he asked her to play, he realized that what she played was the same one that he and Rui performed. He was also aware of her dream to play the first piano concerto he’ll conduct. He couldn’t resist and just hugged her but she told him to get out.

Nodame made peace with Professor Auclair and started playing again the way she always did. And they started talking about her first recital. Chiaki was in Berlin with Stresseman talking about his European debut. When he finally came home for Christmas, he found Nodame and Kuroki in his apartment and walked out. When Nodame called for him, he didn’t acknowledge her and they started beating the crap out of each other.

After her successful recital, Chiaki finally kissed her and gave a ruby necklace that he bought when he went shopping with Rui in Tokyo. The show ended with Chiaki’s European debut…

Well, I finally got curious enough to click on the FTV tab for the blog. Hehehe… This is probably my perfect opportunity to migrate or continue from my old blog to this one. I’ve been planning to do so forever but never got around to do anything about it like learn it. I think I will have to learn the kinks of the WP format though… it was very different from the Live Spaces one.
