White Album 15 and 16

This week I watched these two episodes because I heard that it starts getting pretty interesting and that things start to break wide open finally. After watching them, I do agree to a point. Read on for my explanation, as it’s lengthy!

These two episodes had events relating to nearly every character in the show, which was alot to fit in if you ask me. It’s nice that this show actually has enough material for the episodes to be full of interesting events to watch and think about. For me, I am really wanting Yuki to find out about Touya and his affair with her manager, because I really dislike him at this point, because he can’t seem to stop cheating on her every chance he gets, despite the fact that Yuki is making an effort to spend time with him.

This kiss made me so mad when I was watching it!!!

When Eiji Ogata (Rina’s older brother) found out, I was sure something would happen, either the manager being fired, or Yuki finding out, but it didn’t! Gah! Instead, he was vague in some conversations with Yuki’s manager about it and said “As long as it doesn’t hurt Yuki it’s okay.” Lame. I did get a bit of a feeling that there was more to it than that, but they didn’t say, and now that I am thinking about it I’m not sure. I felt like they had some sort of secret plan in order to benefit Yuki or something, like secret agents. So now I’m not sure if I’m just taking my analysis of the dialog too far or what! Only time will tell.

The departure of Rina from the production company was both a surprise, and not. What I am wondering is whether she left for good, or if she is coming back to them after the competition. I feel like she is going to break out on her own now that her brother has a new girl to work with, and because it seemed like he has nothing more to teach Rina anyway.

I find myself bored for the most part when the focus is on Touya’s dying father, mostly because there is conflicting information and it’s yet another example of Touya acting like a complete jerk, and because I don’t know why that is, I can’t relate to it. Also I really dislike Misaki and Akira because they are odd characters and I can’t quite figure them out.  I know that Misaki actually wants to be with Touya, but she was shot down. I guess Akira is her second choice? Thier relationship feels disfunctional but I really only see them when they are helping take care of Touya’s dad. Maybe in the next few episodes more will be revealed that will change how I feel about them.

As far as whether the story has broken open, it has, but not in the way I expected. I expected the affair to come out in the open, but instead Rina left the production company, and we found out about Yuki’s next endeavor as an idol. We also found out about Touya’s father’s condition. I have to say I am liking the way things are going, though of course I still want that jerk Touya to be revealed for the cheating, dying father neglecting person that he truly is. Why do any of these girls like that loser anyway?
