Merry Christmas! + Railgun [ep 12]
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope all my blog readers have a fabulous holiday. I plan to do lots of skiing, eating, and socializing! I am trying to think of the perfect anime/anime movie to bring to my parent’s house for Christmas, and I am currently leaning towards something by my favorite ever, Hayao Miyazaki. Probably Laputa because it’s awesome, or maybe My Neighbor Totoro. Gah, tough call!
I just watched the most recent episode of Railgun, ep 12, and it was pretty cool. They explained that ridiculous angel fetus thing, and they made it extra gross looking too. I am wondering how they are going to end this series, and when. I guess I should look it up or something! If the next episode is the last one then I feel like they have barely scratched the surface of this story, which is really quite silly considering it’s just a spinoff series. The fact is that this show exceeded my expectations from episode one, and if they made another season, I would definitely watch it.
They of course saved my favorite, Saten. Uiharu and Saten are so cute together, it was awesome when Saten flipped up Uiharu’s skirt again, lol! I think I like them even better than I do Misaka, and she’s really great too. I finally figured out who Misaka looks like, she totally looks like Mai from the Mai Hime/Mai Otome animes. Seriously. And that makes sense because Mai is also one of my favorite characters ever. The other resemblance from that series is the one between “sausage head” (I forget her actual name lol) and Shirai. They really look similar too. And are both perverted, haha.
Don’t they look similar?
I really liked that in this series (as opposed to Index) Misaka isn’t always the hero saving the day with her powers. They have made some progress for sure in this series in varying the solutions to encounters with enemies. They have continued to excel at creating ultra cute characters and developing the characters along with the plot at a good pace. I haven’t felt that there were any boring episodes, or even parts of episodes, but at the same time I haven’t felt like they were going too fast or skipping explanations that are needed.
One of the things I wish I saw more of is a connection between these two series, and a timeline since I can’t really tell what stage they are at versus the events in Index. I would also like to see a connection between the battles Misaka has fought, giving them all meaning other than just as exciting action in the series. I don’t think I am going to see that though, and really it’s amazing that the only complaints I have are these two.

Well originally this was around the time were Touma was in the midst of saving Index for the first time. Although it seems the studio kind of written him out so my guess a filler arc will be nessessary to bring it to the correct timeline.
In other words when Misaka overhears the rumor about her acting strange then will we be aroud the “Imouto” Arc. Although they may just save that for a second season before they think about heading back to the Index storyline.
