Some of our staff here are real fans of Touhou, namely the translators. We have softsub and hardsubs versions available. Hard subs will be released soon. Just a note on the soft subs, though. There are 2 subtitles in the file. If you can’t play the complex version, play the simple version to save your CPU some slack.

EDIT: The links to the softsubs have been edited since the first post. The file is larger as the font has been added. The original video without subtitles or fonts is a unecessary 55MB large, so the encoded hardsubs are nice as they are much less space at 25.23MB.

All links are fixed and and so is the video, thank goodness. I would prefer to DL the hardsubs as they are just as good a quality.
The reason why the softsubs are so big is that the softsubs use the original raw, which is a bit overboard on the bitrate, making the video a bigger file than needed. the audio added another 5 MB and the fonts another 15 MB.

um so this is another Touhou anime? Is it related to the one released last year? Sorry i haven’t seen the old one and i’m not really a fan… just curious

It’s not a Touhou anime. It’s a music video based on one of the Touhou songs – Bad Apple!!
The video is really cool, and it can be seen on the main page of FansubTV (www.fansub.tv). The file here is a subbed version of the video – in other words the lyrics to the song have been translated.

The anime is merely a MAD production, meaning it’s made from fans. This is basically a remix of the third theme song, Bad Apple, in the fourth game of the Touhou game series, Lotus Land Story. The words to this song relate to hikkikomoris and NEETs as you can notice from its pessimistic lyrics.
@talesweaver > what version are you playing, the softsubs or the hardsubs? If you’re playing the softsubs, it’s unreasonable because the original music came from there. The hardsubs, on the other hand… are encoded to ac3 audio.
I personally don’t hear any waviness. If anyone else hears this too, please say so, as I will re-encode it.

I used the original torrent link – whatever that was. I’m guessing it was hardsubbed? Whatever it is I have, it does not have multiple subtitle options (or even an option to turn subs off), so I guess it’s hardsubbed though I could have sworn soft subs were the first ones up??
Either way, the audio quality is just fine – equivalent to the youtube video. No ‘wavy’ sound that I notice.

great job on the translation, though on the hardsub i find that the frame rate is to low, its noticeably choppy, great job overall tho ^^

Oh yeah there was a video that was placed on YouTube that had the compairison and translation of the placeholder. I kind of like how they made it where you could view another related video without leaving the site you are currently on.
