MCM & Japan Expo London May 2010

This is a post about the expo in 2010, I’m writing this 2 years after the event as I happened upon the pictures while writing another post.

The MCM Expo is always good to go to, its one of my favorite ones as its quite big and there’s a big selection of things to buy – DVDs, BDs, figures etc, this time they seemed to have joined the MCM expo with Japan Ex, which the previous year were separate events, that made this one even bigger, and it wasn’t just anime and games either. The first you do upon arrival is to queue…

I think I was in that for well over 1 hour, maybe 2 hours, the amount of people waiting was quite impressive.

There is also always lots of people cosplaying at these events, some kind enough to pose for some pictures and some who like to offer ‘Free Hugs’…

I also met a few storm troopers too…

And this was before I even got inside the main hall. Once inside you can come and go as you please, as they give you a wrist band, this quite important as the cash machines and toilets are outside of the main hall. Inside there are lots more cosplayers and its not just the fans who are in costume either…

Each event has a big cosplay competition on the main stage which goes on all weekend as well…

Lots of free hugs are always a good thing…

Take a close look at the far right picture, see how hes doing it?

Its not just anime that has a presence, lots of Sci-Fi is as well…

Culture and art are important too…

And gaming opportunities, a lot more than I took pictures of as well, and finally… robots!

It was a long day, but a lot of fun and I’ll be back for the next one.

Special thanks to everyone who posed for and allowed me take their picture.
